I know most girls have been dreaming and planning their magical wedding since young. I however have no such dream to be turned into a "princess" for one day. To me, wedding is just to formalise the union-ship and two families coming together.
Our wedding day is 3 months away. We didn't have much planned for the wedding. We just wanted to have a small, simple and none of those let's-give-the-groom-hell gestures. I don't how or when.... suddenly I was told that we have an estimate of 250 guests turning up for the reception. GREAT! Justin is panicking, while I'm stressed. Half of them are my relatives, extended relatives whom I don't even remember knowing from my dad's side. GEEZ! Nothing is planned yet for the reception dinner. I wonder if it will be a disaster. Everyone will be snoozing off while eating. I can hear crickets!
I went back to Kuching and tried on a few dresses in the bridal boutique but I looked ridiculously puffed. Mum said I should go on diet. =( Well, my diet is going nowhere. So
I've decided to make a dress that fits me than forcing myself to fit into a typical Malaysian size dress. For your info, I'm not your average size Malaysian girl. I tend to be taller and heavier than most girls hence feel like a giant when I'm back there. Which suits me great while I'm in NZ. Here I wear size S-M, while in Malaysia/Singapore L-XL. Haha!
Mum also said that I should keep myself from getting anymore tan, leave my hair long and take good care of my complexion before the day. I did none of those. I started playing tennis everyday after work underneath the HOT sun, chopped off my hair really short and not taking in enough nutritious food. I'm such a rebel. Bweks. I remember when I came into the office last Monday, my Boss said, "I love your new hair but
OH NO! what will your mum say!?"
On a happier note, I have a few dresses in mind which I really like. If you are like me,
apple body shape, you will have full broader shoulders and bust, and narrower hips. Fat is mainly distributed in the chest, face and abdomen. Hence when looking for a dress, do go for Tea length, empire or A-line style dresses. From my own perspective, I love short empire dresses which shows off my slim legs while balancing out my very heavy top.
Here's a couple of dresses I like. I only have a small budget on the dress as I don't think it is worth it to spend that much on a dress I
only wear for ONE DAY!! Prices ranging from NZD$300 - NZD$500 to make the exact dress.
P/S: Told my mum I'd like a short dress for the Big day but she's against it. HMMPH! She said not elegant looking. Ah well, it's my wedding not hers. =P BWEKS!

Hi folks. Forgive me for my absence. I am not dead yet, not to worry. I just went through a huge phase in life.
As you know, I was out of the country for one month. Went to Jakarta for work and back to Malaysia to make arrangements for our BIG day and then back to Jakarta again where I experienced the worst earth shake ever.
Came back into the country first week of September and was told that I had to move to Hamilton office. Got three weeks to sort everything out and pack up my things and cat. Work is not like it used to be. I no longer have 5 mins break to even surf the net. My desk is just right outside the boss of all bosses' office. How great~
Finally settled down for a bit. Took me 2 weeks to unpack all my things. Still in a mess but at least I have time to sit down and upload all the photos!
Till the next post, please enjoy the photos I've taken throughout the past months. I was all over the place and it was all so awesome.

Sorry only two photos. Not allowed to upload the others due to privacy of the companies involved.
Wah... our day started at 5:30am and only reached home at 10:00pm. What a day. All work stopped in the wharf due to tsunami warning being issued. This is the day when Samoa suffered from the earthquake disaster.

Last two weeks had been chaotic. Enormous count of paper work, meetings, travelling and over time. Nonetheless, when the clock struck 3:30pm, James tapped on my shoulder and said, "Hey Ellen, do you want a beer?" Struggling to find a piece of drawing underneath a pile of mess on my table with my headphones on playing Amy Winehouse's song, I turned to James and took the beer from his hand. Thanks! I dropped my pen, shut off my screens and gathered around the rest for some chinwagging and irrelevant chat. I then realised that it's already Friday afternoon, my supposingly last day in the office. Boss called earlier and insisted that I took Monday off before my long journey to Jakarta. As much as I like to, I still have tons of shit lying around my table which I left behind after the Friday beer.
Enough of work! I've started reading again. Strange how one's life can change so quickly. I've moved out from my previous flat. My friend and his mum had took over the house. I've left my precious cat behind with him. I'm going away for a month and couldn't afford sending Angel to the cats' hotel. Hope she'll forgive me! Moved into this tiny lil room with no TV reception. Broadband connection is the speed of the obsolete dial-up connection. Well, at least the book is keeping me company for now.
Went out with my favourite person for breakie yesterday. Saw the first blossom tree. The coldest day is now behind us. Staring at the pink yet leafless tree, it crossed my mind that I've been here, in this marvellous lil town for close to two years now. In another few months time, I'll be packing up my belongings yet again.
I guess I won't be blogging for another month. I'm leaving this cold as country tomorrow and will return in 4 weeks time. I'll be travelling to Jakarta and back to Kuching, and then back to Jakarta again before returning to NZ. In the mean time, here are some photos I took in the past two/three weeks. =) Cheerios guys.
